“The Dirt on Peat: Forms and Features of Local Boreal Wetlands”

Speaker: David Pelster, Ph.D. in Forest Sciences, expert in Forest Hydrology
5:30 pm at the Lakehead University, Braun Building Room 1006
The presentation will examine the physical processes that create the various forms of wetlands,
along with a brief description of the ecology of wetlands in the Thunder Bay region.
This is a special presentation that ties in with the upcoming wetlands field trip on May 15
led by aquatic biologist Dr. Paul Dinsmore and ecologist Rebecca MacDonald as well as an article
on local wetlands that will appear in the May issue of Nature Northwest.
