The count was held as usual Dec 26, under clear skies. Total 47 species, plus two count-week (not recorded on count day), about average. 6768 birds in total. One new species were added to the count list (Long-eared Owl-count-week).
A total of 13 parties covered the count circle, 4 of them tied for the best one-group species count of 22.
- Highlights were a pair of Black-billed Magpie coming to a feeder on Government Road, and a new high count of 9 Northern Cardinal. Winter finches were very scarce, only 2 Common Redpoll flocks, and some groups missed Pine Grosbeak altogether for the first time. The “Wild” Turkey flock was all together in a yard on Mountain Road.
